VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies), founded as one of Europe's largest technical and scientific associations, directly participates in the formulation of German national standards.   It is one of the few founding members of the IEC standardization organization established in 1906.

The VDE Testing and Certification Institute was founded to practice "Made in Germany" - style quality inspection, which involves testing electrical and electronic components as well as complete products in terms of safety, lifecycle and environmental stability.

LABCO can be traced back to as early as 1978, when Bergmann Kabelwerke AG established a development laboratory for automotive wires and cable system components in Brake (Unterweser), Germany.

At that time, the laboratory manager, Costakis Constantinou, acquired the laboratory and renamed it LABCO.

China General Certification Center, (referred to as "CGC") is a third-party technical service organization specializing in standard development, testing, inspection, certification, technical and industry research services. 

VDE has established multiple VDE Global Service companies in various locations, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Wenzhou, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

CGC has obtained the authorization as a designated certification body and laboratory for China Compulsory Certification (CCC) by CNCA.

VDE has joined hands with LABCO, a German automotive parts testing laboratory, and is committed to providing localized services for customers in Asia, especially in China.

CGC has become the first certification and testing body outside Europe to be accredited by IECRE. 

VDE and CGC jointly established VDE CGC (Guangdong) Testing and Certification Co., Ltd. in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province as a joint venture.

The LABCO Battery Testing Center (BTC) laboratory was established and officially put into operation in 2022, providing customers with testing environments and methods specifically developed for battery testing.

CVL (Zhejiang) Testing and Certification Co.,Ltd. was put into operation.
